Private beta / AI finally earns dinner

AI finally did something useful.

Six years of AI promised to change your life. Mostly it gave you more tabs. OpenCrust is the smallest possible attempt to make it actually useful. In private beta, approved testers get pizza with one button, fewer apps, and a tighter path to the oven.

The problem was never pizza. It was the tollbooth around it.

DoorDash, Uber Eats, Postmates, service fees, small-order fees, priority fees, and five screens of “almost there.” You get the idea.

OpenCrust makes AI do the chore.

One button, a cleaner route when one exists, and a pizza outcome you can understand.

Less “where should we order?” More pizza.

// Status

Private beta. Tested on ourselves first.

We are tightening the boring parts first: payment setup, location, invite claims, order state, support paths, and smoke tests. The joke only works if the pizza actually works.

Delivery apps got weird

Menus became mazes. Dinner became a checkout flow.

AI does the errand

OpenCrust checks the boring paths so you do not have to.

Local first

Local pizzerias before delivery giants. More of the dollar stays near the oven.

Zero regret policy

Clear approvals, fewer surprises, and recovery when dinner misses.

ピザ

Direct when possible. Accountable either way.

OpenCrust routes around the dinner tollbooth where it can and keeps the order state visible when it cannot.

// The manifesto

AI should be boringly useful. Pizza counts.

OpenCrust is promise-focused, not profit-focused. We charge you for the pizza that actually lands, send most of the dollar to the local shop that made it, and stay out of the way. Built by a tired dad of four after fifteen years of false tech promises. Five principles. One button. Read the full thing.

Useful AI.

Not a deck. Not a demo. Dinner.

Local first.

Pizzerias paid direct. Tollbooth skipped.

No hidden fees.

No subscriptions. Pay for the pizza that lands.

Zero regrets.

If pizza misses, a human picks up. No bot loop.

// Merch

The cult uniform is half the joke.

We were promised the future and got fee stacks, fake dashboards, and AI that still cannot make dinner less annoying. So yes, there will be shirts.

// FAQ

Straight answers.

What is OpenCrust?+

OpenCrust is an AI pizza button in private beta. Approved testers set up delivery and payment, then press one button when they want pizza. CrustGPT handles the boring routing in the background.

Is this another DoorDash?+

DoorDash sells you a menu maze. OpenCrust sells you pizza. We prefer direct routes to local pizzerias and skip the marketplace tollbooth wherever a clean path exists.

What does the AI actually do?+

The unglamorous part. CrustGPT checks nearby pizzerias, picks the cleanest direct path, asks before we spend, and keeps you posted while pizza happens.

How does payment work?+

Your card is safe. You pay for the pizza that actually lands. No hidden fees, no subscriptions, no service-charge stack. You see the hold before money gets captured, and we ask before we spend on every order.

Are you live yet?+

OpenCrust is in private beta. We are dogfooding the app, tightening the order flow, and opening access in small batches.

What does zero regrets mean?+

Fewer surprise fees, clearer routing, and a simple recovery policy when dinner does not land right. The button should feel funny, not risky.
